Silksong Passing Of The Age Quest Details And Progression Guide

The Passing of the Age quest in Hollow Knight: Silksong is one of the most enigmatic witness quests in the game. Requiring players to decipher cryptic riddles and track down Mister Mushroom across the realm of Pharloom, completing this storyline reveals a secret ending scene and unlocks a rare achievement.

How to Unlock and Start the Quest

To initiate the Passing of the Age quest, players must first reach Act 3 and acquire the essential Silk Soar ability. Head to the Putrified Ducts east of Fleatopia, where you can use Silk Soar to reach a hidden upper alcove containing an ancient glowing tablet. Interacting with this stone reveals a series of poetic riddles that dictate where Mister Mushroom will appear next.

Deciphering the Clues and Tracking Mister Mushroom

Each line of the riddle corresponds to a specific area across Pharloom, starting from the Moss Grotto and extending through locations such as Bone Bottom, Far Fields, Greymoor, and The Slab. Upon arriving at a designated spot marked by rising blue spores, players must play the Needolin to draw Mister Mushroom out from hiding. Interacting with him advances his journey to the next riddle location.

Reaching the Final Peak and Completing the Quest

The final encounters take players through Mount Fay and eventually up into the towering heights of The Cradle. Reaching his final resting spot requires precise platforming skills and advanced mobility abilities like Clawline. Once you speak to Mister Mushroom for the last time at the peak, the quest concludes, ensuring that the secret cutscene triggers after defeating the game's final boss.
